THE College of Medicine Alumni Association (ICOMAA) of the University College Hospital (UCH), has called on its members abroad to return home.

Dr. Olukayode Oyetunde, the association\\\'s Publicity Secretary, told newsmen yesterday in Ibadan, that their return would enable them to contribute to the nation\\\'s development.

Oyetunde said that the country was in dire need of medical doctors who would assist in providing healthcare for the people.

He said that most doctors, who went abroad, did so primarily to make money and obtain higher qualifications. \\\'We acknowledge that returning home would be difficult for the doctors because remuneration, job satisfaction and accommodation are issues to be considered,\\\' he said.

He said that so far UCH-trained doctors working abroad, were still in contact with the country, judging by their donations to their alma mater.

Oyetunde, who is UCH\\\'s Head of Accident and Emergency Department, said that the association was determined to midwife positive changes in the academic programmes of the medical college.
